St Patrick's Day Style Savior

St. Patrick's Day Savior
Ladies. St. Patrick's day is right around the corner, and let's be honest wearing obnoxious shades of green is far from flattering. So I have styled five outfits in hopes to inspire you to incorporate green into your outfit in a trendy and modern way. Enjoy!

Look No. 1
Tip: Opt for a green that goes well with your complexion and hair color. Mint, hunter, and emerald are pretty alternatives to a lime or clover color. Green is the color of the season, so you can practically find it in any retail store.

St. Patty's 1

Look No. 2
This look is really casual, but still cute. Printed jeans are a big trend right now so try using a green or print pant paired with neutrals.

St. Patty's 2

Look No. 3
Combine your basic skinny's with a cream top and an olive color jacket. Accessorize with a bold statement necklace in green. A helpful tip is to pair green with soft neutrals, and not to overload your look with too much of one color. The statement necklace makes the outfit harmonize!

St Patty's 3

Look No. 4

Look No. 5
My final tip to you lovely ladies is to accessorize with green! Try a black and white outfit and choose a pretty hue of greens to accessorize with.

Another fun idea is to try painting your nails green - sounds a little gross but try one of these colors!

Spring 2013 Beauty Trends

Beauty Trends for Spring 2013
I may not be a beauty guru, but one of my favorite topics is beauty. Below are a few fresh ideas to give a try for the upcoming season.

1. Sleek & Low Ponytails
Seen on allover the runways for this season are ponytails dropped down the base of the neck, try it with a middle part and add a little volume.

2. Matte Lips
Try any shade of color but in matte to make statement. What's your shade?

3. Neutral Nails
Neutral nails may seem boring and predictable, but they look really fresh and modern. Try pale pinks and warm nudes. Essie and OPI have incredible neutral color selections.

4. The Middle Part and Sleek Hair
The middle part is not fitting for every face shape but even try a slightly more centered part than usual. Also tame frizziness by applying a light serum after styling your hair.

 5. Tousled Waves
Loose, tousled waves continued making an appearance on the runway this season -  and aren't going anywhere, so continue to brush out your curls.

Hopefully these ideas spark some inspiration to try a little something different to your everyday beauty routine for this spring!

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is right around the corner - whether you're dreading it, or looking forward to it, I created a few looks for any night you have planned.

Valentines Day - Look 1

For the girl who may not have a valentine this year (me), or is planning to stay in and have a casual night with your valentine - this look is for you. It's very simple yet bold. I'm usually not a fan of holiday themed clothing, but this sweater by Wildfox is too cute to pass down for Valentines Day! Pair it with a comfortable pair of leggings, tousled hair, a red lip, and you're set!

Valentines Day - Look 2

The mix of the feminine pieces and tough pieces creates a sexy look that is understated. Wear this outfit out on your date and you'll have your man happy he's your valentine.

Valentine's Day - Look 3
Nothing says sexy like a little black dress. If you have an event where you need to dress to the nines, opt for a black dress that is knee length. The lace details on this dress adds a feminine touch to a classic black dress. Add a pair of patent pumps, a simple clutch, a wine colored lip and viola!

I hope this has helped you to decide on an outfit to wear on this special day, even if you are valentine-less I hope you have an amazing day that's filled with hugs and kisses!

sunshine on my mind

Happy Friday Everyone!

I decided to post this outfit I wore yesterday because I tried something completely out of my comfort zone. I'm not a girl to follow outrageous trends, but I do like to try certain trends out - but with my own twist. Like I've said, the weather in LA has been incredible, so I was lucky enough to pull off this ensemble!

(Please excuse the ugly background.. It was already dark out when I took these!)

Yes, that IS my stomach - which is very rare to see me in, but I'm in love with this outfit. I think it's important to have a dignified style; mine is very classic, flirty, and feminine but it's also fun to try out trends. Going to a fashion school, I'm inspired everyday and it's really easy to try new things there - which is exactly what I did!

* You can't see my shoes, but I had on a pair of platinum silver strappy gladiator sandals from a boutique.

pretty in neutrals

Meet my lovely roommate, Sam :) Isn't she gorg?! I decided to have her model for me for this blog post, and I personally love this look for spring!

Mixing all neutrals may be a scary thought, but styling it properly will create such a pretty look.

Tip #1 Don't use ALL of the same hues - here she has on a yellow/cream colored pant, oatmeal blazer, blush top, and taupe wedges.

Tip #2 Add a pop of color on your lips or nails like a hot pink, or a colored bag

Top: Zara
Blazer: Misitique Boutique in NYC
Pants: Zara
Wedges: Charolette Russe

I dare you to give it a try :-) Have a wonderful week!

transition

Being spoiled by the weather here in Los Angeles, I feel like it's time to ditch the winter apparel and transition into my summer wardrobe. The only issue is, it's still January. Dressing appropriately per season is key, so I have styled a few simple looks, and tips that will make the transition from Winter to Spring a breeze. Enjoy!

Exhibit A

Here is my take on this look, created by yours truly :-)

transition

Pulling out your well loved maxi is most definitely alright, just be sure to style it with pieces that are warmer - such as a solid camisole tucked in, with a chambray top unbuttoned over. Add a simple sandal, and accessorize with a belt and jewelry. I also love mixing my maxi with a leather jacket and scarf.

Exhibit B

spring

By keeping your dark wash jeans from the Winter season, but adding a light fabric of light color on top will be the perfect combination for Winter and Spring. Also, stick with your suede booties and add a pop of color to accessorize! I love this look.

Exhibit C
Here is another look that I recreated below.

casual cute

By transitioning into a pair of lighter wash denim that is cuffed, and pairing it with a chunky sweater will create an amazing balance of warmth, and breeze. The closed toe wedge also plays a safe role in the look. Accessorize with an oversized luggage color tote, and your favorite pair of shades. :-)

I hope that these tips can help you transition easily into your Spring wardrobe. Mix, match, and have fun with styling! Spring is one of my favorite seasons to pick out outfits.
